At New Brighton Primary School we deliver a wealth of opportunities for children to learn about and respect their own and other cultures and beliefs.
We follow the Discovery R.E scheme of work which allows the children to develop their understanding of a variety of faiths as well as global issues. We focus on topics such as health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world and recognise the need for pupils to understand and learn about Christianity and the belief systems, practices and cultures of other world during their time with us. As a school, we welcome the opportunities on offer to us, through the curriculum, to learn about other religions, communities and people and develop and maintain an ethos of mutual respect.
We work in partnership with local community groups and places of worship, which helps the children to develop understanding and tolerance of others. This also helps to form positive relationships with home and the wider school as well as national and global communities to promote respect and inclusion for all.
The Discovery R.E scheme of work is followed within the school but we have personalised it to ensure progression and allow for cross-curricular links with other subjects.
